Wednesday Thoughts & Memories 2.13.19

As of this morning,

New England is covered

In fresh mounds of snow.

Yet, I cannot complain,

Because two months ago

I moved to North Carolina

And all we got is tons of rain!

Excellent news!!  On January 31st, my best friend is coming from Massachusetts to visit! Woohoo!  It will be a welcome relief for her to get away from the extreme cold. For me? Fantastic to have a friend for exploration!

L, who is coming to visit,  prompted the dedication quote in my next book!

are often discovered by

 unsolicited action and support.

Once found, forever carried within the heart.” – Kallie Knight

“WEATHER” OR  NOT WE ARE HAVING FUN…. HAHAHA!

after the storm 31.29.2019

In the northern part of the east coast,  in the last two weeks, they have experienced 12-14 plus inches of snow a few times, and quick thaws causing icy roads, walkways along with some flash flooding.  They are enduring an ongoing windchill factor that drops the temperature well below zero. New Hampshire and Vermont as well as other parts of the country are experiencing EXTREME Winter!

When one thinks of North Carolina, generally, the mind envisions hot sunny, humid days. Surprise! They DO have winter!

This morning, as I walked the dogs, there was a crisp, crackle to the grass comparable to the sound of the crinkle-crunch of when my cat attempts to sneak into a freshly opened bag of potato chips.

Temperature?  Twenty-four degrees!

When I first arrived to North Carolina, it was barely 48 hours following an all time record breaking snowfall. As the last six-ish weeks have flown by, I have experienced, rain,  frozen water droplets hanging from the branches, while the ground remained wet but too warm to freeze.

In the last 2 weeks there have been school delays due to icy roads. Sounds like Wintry weather to me!

The temperature ranges from 63-38 degrees during the day, then drops to the 20-30s at night. Mother Nature seems to enjoy the element of surprise as this transpires in no particular order and without warning.

One day I will be a bit hot in my hoodie, the next I have my purple scarf wrapped about my neck as I add a winter coat to take the dogs outside into the brisk air! Three hours later I may be in a hoodie again, with blue skies, sunshine and what I deem to be the perfect not too hot, not too cold temperature.

I have felt blessed, weather-wise, to witness this time of year in Statesville and Troutman, NC!

Well I am off to do more unpacking in hopes of having some sort of order when L arrives!!

❤

Have a wicked awesome Wednesday!!

Kind Regards  and #winning- K

Chief’s special gift

Yesterday, Mother Nature delivered my beloved husky a special gift.

The beauty of a seasonal first snow fall, complete with, chill you through to the bone, winds.

His favorite season. Often he begs to go out, at least eleven times plus, on a snow day!

He’ll be 13 this Christmas. He’s slowed down quite a bit in the last few months.

Then there are moments like yesterday, when he is filled with puppy like exuberance. Which he pays for with 3 plus hour naps afterwards.

Bittersweet moments these days, as I pack. I’m not sure if the move is going to be too much for him.

He senses my inner struggles, with my past visions of a different scenario, for this move. Which, unfortunately is no longer an option. Not my choice. But one, I have to live with. The only person in my control, is me. 😉

So New England, once again, I shall be leaving in the very near future.

I’ll be back to visit someday.

For now, It’s my time to journey on…

Kind Regards and putting one foot in front of the other- K

Changes 10.29.18

Exciting and scary all at the same time.

My house is being shown this coming weekend.

I’m sorting and boxing up 28 years of my NH life. Getting ready for a change.

Actually, it goes further back if you count the items and memories saved from the sale of my childhood home in early 2000.

Mixed emotions.

Sadness, thankfulness and mindfully staying open to new adventures.

If everything falls into place, a month from now, I shall be living near my youngest granddaughter!

At only 4 1/2, what a delight it will be to be a regular part of her life, instead of flying in every 6 months and FaceTime chats and dinners!

Bittersweet, selfishly wanting both things at once. My home and the freedom to travel to see her every week.

I’ll will keep you posted!

Kind Regards – K

Great Things are Happening! 10.19.18

Please be patient with me.

I am running a bit behind this week.

There are major “positive” changes happening in my life.

☀️

Often, when times seem bleak and you are feeling lost. Thinking and fretting while wondering what the hell you are going to do? Because things are NOT working….

😳

The universe opens a door to an opportunity. An opportunity which causes a ripple and suddenly everything is falling into place. Your heart, soul and your mind know, THIS IS THE PATH, you must follow!

😁

I am, selling my house after 22 years. (Yikes) YES! I have an offer! WOW!

☀️

Packing and preparing to move from NH to NC!

❤️

I will be closer to my littlest granddaughter!

Finally, I will be able to watch her grow!

Lots of glorious G’ma hugs in my future! ❤️☀️❤️

GREAT STUFF!

“The warmth of the rays of glorious sunshine surround me!” 🌞

My Dream Life poetry contest with #SIWOPC

https://yoursuccessinspirer.com/2018/10/07/siwo-poetry-contest/

Living off the grid

Boating, camping

And roughing it.

With the sweetest, dearest

Person I know,

My lifetime love.

Sharing silliness,

Warm hugs

Gentle to passionate

Kisses

and lover’s whispers.

Not caring

Whether skies are blue

Or gray.

My soul content

Just being with you

Every single day.

Snuggles in the evening,

Spooning all night,

Waking up early to

Morning coffee chit chat.

Gardening, fishing

Living off brook

And land.

Our own special world,

Hiking the forests

Feeling that spark

As you reach out

To take hold of my hand.

Sitting together

Making s’mores

Over campfire flames.

In the middle of

Our wood.

Oh what a dream life

We would revel in,

If circumstances

Changed and

And the universe

Opened, so that we could.
