How do they do it so polished and concise?

To Paint a picture with such precision,

Using a page or paper as the canvas.

Strokes of the paint brush shows their style,

Words are the colours from the palette,

Life is the model of which they paint.

I am a mere  apprentice

And can only hope, learn and aspire

To become such a great writer as they.

Daily post – Awe

Thank-you’s & A List of 100 Songs That Help Keep me Happy!

Thank you Zen to zany!

Happy hump day! Well Wednesday is the day I am starting to write this, though by the time I actually hit POST, it will be at least Thursday. There is work to be done, writing, more writing, further research, writing, rewriting, verification of writing, editing, re-edit, re-read, review, edit, review, repeat all the above etc…

First, I am the type of person that believes in giving credit where credit is due. On this journey  that I have only just begun, many people have inspired, promoted and helped me.  I hope you don’t mind but I have some shout outs- These may become part of a weekly routine.  Let’s see how it goes, shall we? I welcome your thoughts on the idea, so please leave me a comment.

My first shout out is to Robert Farrington of The College Investor – He shares his knowledge on passive income, getting out of student loan debt along with other financial expertise that I devour every chance I get. He continuously asks for, seems to genuinely enjoy and replies to feed back.  Robert, the last time we touched base was on March 31st via email. It was the day I signed up for Amazon’s MTurk , after reading your in-depth overview, along with helpful do’s and don’t suggestions on the site. I just wanted to let you know as of yesterday I am over 2000 hits with a 97.7% accuracy rate! Definitely, a worthwhile venture and the extra cash has come at a perfect time. Thank you so very much!

My second shout out goes to someone who’s blog post I stumbled onto just yesterday. As I have mentioned, trying to read 2-3 new a week is my ambitious goal. Here is a hearty HOLY COW, spot on and thank you to Patrick Cole for the blog post on Thought Catalog entitled “What I Learned From Dating An Introvert (And What You Should Know Before You Do)” Link: Blog post Thought Catalog. A very insightful piece of the characteristics of an introvert and I know ‘cuz I is one. Obviously, like all human beings, each of us are uniquely different individuals. But, I must say the apt description of how draining a crowd environment can be, left me thinking –  WOWSER! I do believe someone has read my mind! Kudos!!

The third and final shout out for today is to 4 very inspirational blogs and their writers. Thank you for the endless support and encouragement as I walk this part of my life path. This quote is dedicated to each of you: “Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground.  Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it…” ~ Wilferd Peterson  Gosh!! I Know I Made You Smile

Hi there!  Are you still with me? Now for today’s HAPPY LIST! I have eluded to the positive stimulation that music can have on our mood in a prior post and am sure this will not be the last time it is mentioned. It is my constant friend always accessible and totally dependable. After all-

“Music is therapy. Music moves people. It connects people in ways that no other medium can. It pulls heart strings. It acts as medicine.” –  Macklemore

Music can spark a fond memory, bring out my jovial and silly playful side.  Heck, I can recall driving to work one day, I was in my own little world, had the radio cranked  and was just belting out lyrics, totally off key to one of my favorite songs. Stopped at a red light, I glanced to the left and there sitting right beside me, was a guy in a big ol’ pick up truck just grinning from ear to ear watching and listening. My face must have turned about 17 shades of red to purple, the light turned green and off I went. The brief incident still makes me belly chuckle when I think about it. (blush)

Lover of “tuneage” that I am, I’m terrible at remembering names of songs and their artists. So, I poled a few friends, searched my memory banks, hung out with Pandora and You Tube the last few days to bring you a little something special. A list off 100 songs that get my feet tapping and gives a boost to my spirit. I think there is a little bit of something for everyone. As an added bonus I threw in a few links here and there so you can have an audio experience too. They are in NO PAR-TIK-YA-LAR order. Music is the electrical soil

I’ve been nominated for the The LIEBSTER AWARD

Hello there, this is the first time I have been nominated for an award! I feel honored!

I would like to thank Eloraquence- by Anjali who nominated me!

So first, I now need to answer the 11 questions that she asked:

What does success mean to you?
It is a successful day when I wake up and the sun is shining inside my soul. I am beyond successful when I can help someone else feel that way.

What makes you incredibly happy?
I am happiest when I am talking with either of my two adult children or one of my three grand children.

Your favorite person in your life and why?
That is a tough question! Does it really have to be just one? I have a very caring friend we shall call D. Her genuine personality shines through and she doesn’t even realize what a bright star she is. We can talk about anything. She has a heart bigger than Texas, Arizona and California combined!

One ideology that you would stand by all your life?
No matter what comes your way, there is a positive side to everything. You just have to be willing to look for it.
I was blessed to have a person who showed me the steps to achieve that attitude when I was only 16. My mom had just lost her battle with cancer. I was lost. As the years have gone by the universe has shown me that I was lucky to have known her and due to her passing she has literally saved not only my life but my daughters also. We are adamant about getting yearly checkups. This has resulted in both of us having pre-cancer cells removed that could have caused one or both of us to become extremely ill. I would say that is an extreme blessing!

How would you define yourself?
Often too serious, sometimes not serious enough. I can look into someone’s eyes and  watch their body language  which gives me a generally spot on sense of what type of person they are. I am extremely intuitive and caring. Most people would say that I am an extrovert when in reality I can play that role when I am around people but enjoy my time alone. I would probably make a great hermit.

Who/what is your source of inspiration?
Mother Nature and the people who through the years I have been able to help through some dark times. There is no greater feeling than to help an individual go from a negative mindset to a positive one.

What are your thoughts on life?
It sounds so cliche’ but people really do get caught up in the day to day an forget to take time to notice the little things. I revel in the beauty of a sunrise and still am like a small child, giddy with excitement when I chance upon a lady slipper in the woods. Romance is not dead and don’t let anyone tell you differently. We all deserve the best and should never allow ourselves to believe for one moment that we don’t deserve to be treated with respect. And it doesn’t cost anything to be kind or give someone a smile.

Your biggest aspiration that you would achieve at any cost?
That I could make an impact in helping to decrease the number of suicides in our military men and woman and people in general.

One moment that you are extremely proud of?
The day I started the Black Wall Blog. I put myself out there. It hasn’t reached it’s true potential as I continue the search for the best ways to express myself and find the best way to inspire others. It is something I have toyed with for a number of years and one day I just did it.

A song(s) that makes you strong in the situation of despair?
Broken sung by Lindsey Haun

Had you not been a blogger, what would have you been instead?
Well I am already a Mom and a G’ma which is one of the greatest feelings in the world. With 30 plus years of Cost accounting under my belt I am great with numbers. But my passion is to be a great positive influence to people.

Eleven random facts about me:

  1. Eleven just happens to be my favorite number!
  2. I love listening to Country and Western music and good ol’ Rock n Roll! I love to crank it!
  3. Creating hard to find landscape flowers and decorations along with building 1/12th scale miniature houses is one of my passions.
  4. I am an avid David Koontz fan.
  5. There is a small dual pond that I designed and built from scratch in my front yard. It is surrounded by rocks that I and my son collected from various country roads. The sounds of the water is so peaceful.13391523_10208575052521292_576414325181193772_o
  6. I created a video to help raise funds to bring 3 of my son’s platoon dogs back to the USA from Afghanistan. LEAVE NO BUDDY BEHIND
  7. Many times I have worked very closely with families who have lost loved ones to create Celebration of Life dvds in my business called Memories and Moments. It is very fulfilling. It is a business sparked from the joy I get when I watch the one that was created when my older brother passed. To this day, it doesn’t make me sad, but happy to see some of his ridiculous antics! Such fond memories. (the business has never made a profit because I do them for cost of materials).
  8. I love to swim and geocache AND I love Holsteins!12540903_10207482537849108_3521378918845248418_n
  9. In my book case, you will find the complete dvd collection of every season of the Gilmore Girl’s! I even have mugs from Luke’s diner.
  10. My favorite color is hunter green.
  11.  Daisies, Bachelor buttons, Black eyed Susans, Sweet William and mini yellow roses surrounded by baby’s breath are my favorite flowers.
