Celebrate! Celebrate! Dance to the music… (Three Dog Night)

Good morning,

Yesterday morning, when I took the dogs out for their morning walk… the sky, almost daylight bright from the light beaming from the moon and stars, looked as if someone had tossed hand fulls of cotton balls all about. It was an awesome sight! This morning, it’s dark and drizzling.

BUT there is “nothing” that can darken this day!

TODAY, I will be attending my youngest grand daughter’s birthday party. It will be the first time I will be able to appear in person, not via FACETIME!

Happy Dance!!  WOOT WOOT!!

Tomorrow, I will start the med change, for today I will revel in what I have been hoping to do for FIVE years!

Kind Regards and wishing you the best day- K

Cruzin’ Back in Time

cruzin 9.jpeg

Cruzin’, tree lined back roads,

Tunes cranked, I belt along,

Cuz’ I know every word.

My mind relives,

A persistent memory.

Deep within my heart.

Pedal down on the straight-a-way.

Maneuvering curves like an Earnhardt.

Adrenaline rushing through my body.

As my mind relives,

A persistent memory.

Deep within my heart.

As I’m cruzin’

 Tree lined back roads,

Tunes cranked, I belt along,

Cuz’ I know every word.

Of that younger us,

Hearts pure,

Full of innocence.

We just knew

Our hearts to be,

Invincible in love.

As I’m cruzin’,

Tree lined back roads,

Tunes cranked, I belt along,

Cuz’ I know every word.

Sparks ignited,

When we held hands.

Feeling that teenage  buzz.

No one,

In the world,

Our feelings so intense.

As I’m cruzin’,

Tree lined back roads,

Tunes cranked, I belt along,

Cuz’ I know every word.

My mind relives,

A persistent memory.

Deep within my heart.

As I’m cruzin’,

Tree lined back roads,

Tunes cranked, I belt along,

Cuz’ I know every word.

cruzin 8

Young love. Were we really that innocent?

Heck, were we really that young? ha!

Oh well, now and then it hits you,

like a bolt of lightning.

Mind goes off into another place and time.

Cherished memories.

I wonder if that little ditty above

Could be a song? hmmmm

Kind Regards and # winning _ K

Keep On Rolling…

I’ll admit it. It’s been a rough few weeks.

I haven’t been able to write.

No feelings of creativity or inspiration.

I’ve focused on survival,

It was all I could muster.

As I planted a smile on my face

and went to work each day.

Perhaps I was letting go,

Working on accepting what is.

Grief can come in all forms.

I haven’t seen or ever felt

there was a perfectly defined

set of rules,

for how you make it

While watching some Hulu last night

Along came a song…

Exactly what I needed,

not that I knew what I needed.

My mind, feet and soul  started to dance.

Whatever  was going on,

I am here now.

Happy Saturday to you!

REO SPEEDWAGON sang it loud and so did/do I.

“So if you’re tired of the same old story,
Oh, turn some pages
I will be here when you are ready
To roll with the changes, yeah, yeah…”

That song, produces pictures of

a time of my life filled with glorious memories…

I heard it last night and discovered

it STILL delivers a special message, meaning

and triggers a quickened heart beat.

(August 4, 2017)

It sparks a fire in my soul!

(Originally released in 1978!)

Unbelievable!  Or is it?

I have said it before and you will surely hear,

or read it from me again.

It’s the seemingly simple things in life,

that appear and help get you through.

No matter where you are,

Lounging on the couch,

Driving down the road…

Life,  inspires you,

If you allow yourself to be open to suggestion.

19984158_10212215918620669_2240313148426708559_o (1)

Whether it be the infectious giggling of a child

in the grocery line behind you.

A new or old favorite song on the radio.

An unexpected happy ending of a movie,

A call from an old friend,

A sweet bird singing in the branches

Outside your window,

Or a neighborhood dog that suddenly appears

Just to say hello.

If it creates a spark of hope,

Quickens your heart rate,

Makes you feel good,

Grab onto it, embrace it!

Tap into the positive energy.

Allow it to help propel you forward.

To place one foot in front of the other,

On your journey  of life.

Kind Regards and

feeling grateful for a new day – K

Today I must dedicate my Musical quotes to my dad…

            A life long musician.

                    Who rocked the blues,

classical music, the big band era

                                   and my life!

Dad and I and one of his favorite extra edges cut off
Just me and my dad 196? 🙂

“I merely took the energy

it takes to pout

and wrote some blues.”

~Duke Ellington

“One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song,

read a good poem, see a fine picture and,

if possible, speak a few reasonable words.”

                     ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Thank-you’s & A List of 100 Songs That Help Keep me Happy!

Thank you Zen to zany!

Happy hump day! Well Wednesday is the day I am starting to write this, though by the time I actually hit POST, it will be at least Thursday. There is work to be done, writing, more writing, further research, writing, rewriting, verification of writing, editing, re-edit, re-read, review, edit, review, repeat all the above etc…

First, I am the type of person that believes in giving credit where credit is due. On this journey  that I have only just begun, many people have inspired, promoted and helped me.  I hope you don’t mind but I have some shout outs- These may become part of a weekly routine.  Let’s see how it goes, shall we? I welcome your thoughts on the idea, so please leave me a comment.

My first shout out is to Robert Farrington of The College Investor – He shares his knowledge on passive income, getting out of student loan debt along with other financial expertise that I devour every chance I get. He continuously asks for, seems to genuinely enjoy and replies to feed back.  Robert, the last time we touched base was on March 31st via email. It was the day I signed up for Amazon’s MTurk , after reading your in-depth overview, along with helpful do’s and don’t suggestions on the site. I just wanted to let you know as of yesterday I am over 2000 hits with a 97.7% accuracy rate! Definitely, a worthwhile venture and the extra cash has come at a perfect time. Thank you so very much!

My second shout out goes to someone who’s blog post I stumbled onto just yesterday. As I have mentioned, trying to read 2-3 new a week is my ambitious goal. Here is a hearty HOLY COW, spot on and thank you to Patrick Cole for the blog post on Thought Catalog entitled “What I Learned From Dating An Introvert (And What You Should Know Before You Do)” Link: Blog post Thought Catalog. A very insightful piece of the characteristics of an introvert and I know ‘cuz I is one. Obviously, like all human beings, each of us are uniquely different individuals. But, I must say the apt description of how draining a crowd environment can be, left me thinking –  WOWSER! I do believe someone has read my mind! Kudos!!

The third and final shout out for today is to 4 very inspirational blogs and their writers. Thank you for the endless support and encouragement as I walk this part of my life path. This quote is dedicated to each of you: “Walk with the dreamers, the believers, the courageous, the cheerful, the planners, the doers, the successful people with their heads in the clouds and their feet on the ground.  Let their spirit ignite a fire within you to leave this world better than when you found it…” ~ Wilferd Peterson  Gosh!! I feel like I am doing the Oscars, listed in no planned order;

I Know I Made You Smile

Hi there!  Are you still with me? Now for today’s HAPPY LIST! I have eluded to the positive stimulation that music can have on our mood in a prior post and am sure this will not be the last time it is mentioned. It is my constant friend always accessible and totally dependable. After all-

“Music is therapy. Music moves people. It connects people in ways that no other medium can. It pulls heart strings. It acts as medicine.” –  Macklemore

Music can spark a fond memory, bring out my jovial and silly playful side.  Heck, I can recall driving to work one day, I was in my own little world, had the radio cranked  and was just belting out lyrics, totally off key to one of my favorite songs. Stopped at a red light, I glanced to the left and there sitting right beside me, was a guy in a big ol’ pick up truck just grinning from ear to ear watching and listening. My face must have turned about 17 shades of red to purple, the light turned green and off I went. The brief incident still makes me belly chuckle when I think about it. (blush)

Lover of “tuneage” that I am, I’m terrible at remembering names of songs and their artists. So, I poled a few friends, searched my memory banks, hung out with Pandora and You Tube the last few days to bring you a little something special. A list off 100 songs that get my feet tapping and gives a boost to my spirit. I think there is a little bit of something for everyone. As an added bonus I threw in a few links here and there so you can have an audio experience too. They are in NO PAR-TIK-YA-LAR order. “Music is a higher revelation
than all wisdom and philosophy.
Music is the electrical soil
in which the spirit lives, thinks and invents.”
~ Ludwig van Beethoven ~
